Tuesday, September 26, 2006 It's two years into our marriage now, and to celebrate that and P's birthday we flew off to Barcelona for a long weekend. With the weather on our side, we walked, cycled, walked, trained, and walked all around the city doing the tourist thing. The hotel upgraded our room to include a balcony, and gave us free breakfasts due to dodgy lighting. Didn't get pickpocketed once either, which must have been due to my "Yeah? Monday, September 04, 2006 I think I must be wearing Electro Magnetic Underpants. Everything electrical that I touch seems to be breaking recently. First the new two week old Sky+ box starts to malfunction. Nearly every time I access the Planner I'm greeted with a "Please wait" message, before I eventually reboot it and the problem temporarily goes away. Crappy Amstrad box that the Sky engineers (yes, two of them) swapped out for a Thomson one today. Shove that up your interactive slot, Sir Alan! Then it was broadband activation day yesterday. Or not, thanks to usless BT lines. My "up to 8mb" connection is trickling through at a pathetic 240Kbps! The upload is faster ffs, at 400Kbps! "Nothing we can do until the 10 days stabilization period is over" says Nildram. Utter shite. Now the washing machine has decided to pack up with half a drum of water inside.
